About MLP London Bridge Speakers
Building confident speakers and leaders in the heart of London since 2005
Our Story
MLP London Bridge Speakers is a vibrant Toastmasters club serving the London Bridge area. We're part of District 91, Area L23, and have been helping members overcome their fear of public speaking and develop essential leadership skills in a supportive, friendly environment.
We're part of Toastmasters International, a global organization with over 16,200 clubs worldwide. Our club meets at St Christopher's Inn, 121 Borough High Street, London SE1 1NP on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM.
In September 2025, we celebrated a special milestone anniversary and recently secured permanent use of the private room at St Christopher's Inn. Our members actively participate in contests, with recent winners progressing to Area level competitions in both Humorous Speech and Table Topics categories.

Our club offers a structured educational program with 6 different Pathways to choose from, each designed to develop specific communication and leadership skills.

Real member stories

Nick - MLP Member, 10 Years
"When I started Toastmasters 10 years ago I was socially introverted. I couldn't even look people in the eye. I shook and sweated when I talked to more than two people."
"I remember I did a table topic and I was on stage for 10 seconds just shaking and mumbling and then everyone clapped for me. I realised that was Toastmasters - encouragement. My confidence has continued to grow year on year and I have now delivered over a hundred speeches and taken up many leadership roles in my club and above."
"Whatever you do, even if you just go on stage for only 10 seconds as a guest and mumble, it's a start and it's a good accomplishment."
Emily - Nearly 10 years
"I went to a face-to-face meeting nearly ten years ago and everyone's clapping as they go on stage, and I was just shaking my head, like 'what is this?' But then you get used to that part, or you embrace that part, and realise that it is a nice thing to do, it's encouraging to everyone."
"Everyone genuinely is welcome, there's no cliques. The fact that we have guests and new people every meeting allows for that, so it becomes its own little community."
Matt - Experienced member
"I remember when I first went along to Toastmasters, it was a couple of times where I really had to force myself to actually go into the meeting. I think everyone has that real big hurdle to actually overcome and get started with it."
"The thing that really surprised me was having that ability to be able to find things to say, which was something I used to really struggle with. It does have a really big impact on how you come across at work and how good you are at communicating."
